Recertification Information
Board Members receive many inquiries regarding the recertification process. FLACHMM will better educate our members via this web page of the new recertification process adopted by IHMM .
As many of you are aware, IHMM has changed the certification requirements from 20 CMP's over 5 years to 200 CMP's. The IHMM has provided updated information on recertification. (A new revision has been made available as of August 14, 2009). In addition, IHMM has included FAQ's on the website to help explain the changes to the process.
The AHMP organization is providing a CMP documentation service as a member benefit on their website. Members need to submit documentation of the training and the points earned and the service will track the points acquired.
However it is done, we have found that annual record keeping will make the recertification process much easier.
Annual attendance to FLACHMM chapter meetings will no longer be accepted for recertification points. However, activities performed for the chapter that contributes to your knowledge or skill in managing hazardous materials, such as giving or attending technical presentations and reviewing or writing articles WILL count towards recertification points at 1 CMP per hour. So it will continue to be beneficial for all of our members to stay involved and in-touch with chapter activities!
